Britain at War: The Darkest Hour
“You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.”
― Winston Churchill
All of us wish to live in freedom. We wish to live in a world where we can be who we want to be and where we can live as we please. But then, no matter how bad we wish for freedom, inevitable things can happen which may hinder us from being free citizens, from being a free country.
World War II is without a doubt the most catastrophic event in the history. Just after 20 years of the First World War, World War II took place. In World War II, the freedom of the world was threatened due to the violence brought by Germany. The Nazis threatened to colonize nations and destroy those who will not accept their power.
The British became a stronghold force during the course of World War II. The British Empire declined to succumb to Germany and instead chose to fight. They accepted the threat of war to fight against the enemy of freedom and peace.
For six years, British soldiers fought and endured. The blood of thousands was spilled to claim freedom and peace. Some of the brave soldiers even ended up being victims of war, enduring years of torture in enemy territories. Despite the terror of war, these soldiers kept their faith and will to keep fighting. In the end, they defeated the enemy and won the battle.
The battle is won but the memories will forever remain. The soldiers who have bravely fought and sacrificed their lives will forever be honored and remembered. To commemorate the historic World War II, watch this documented film below. It is a story of Britain at war, the story of the brave soldiers and the story of victory.
