Coming Home to Georgia
“I’m driving down the highway, checking the signs
Saying 20 miles away from the Georgia state line
Check it to the left, pass it on the right
Gonna make it home it if takes all night
I’m coming home, I’m coming home again
I’m coming home, I’m coming home again
I’m coming home, I’m coming home baby
I’m coming home, Georgia’s gonna tuck me in”
-Josh Kelly, 20 Miles Georgia
I remember a song about Georgia. A place full of stories will always be kept in mind. A home for many brave men who risked and sacrificed their lives in search for freedom.
Many of our soldiers are from Georgia; soldiers, who were courageous enough to face war for their beloved country. Soldiers who rose to the challenge to protect our freedom. Men who have fought against war and became victims of war.
In times that they were facing war, these soldiers held on to the hope of coming home to the arms of the ones they loved. They fought for survival, so that they could come home to their families and friends.
This video is about Georgia World War II History. It tells the story of the personal accounts of men and women from Georgia whose lives were touched by war. These people bravely faced and fought through the war and when they came home to their home town, Georgia, they shared their inspirational stories which are bound to inspire the lives of many.
Every land has its own story. Let’s watch the video and listen to the story that Georgia has to tell. Together, let’s celebrate coming home to Georgia.
