1941

Nazi General Rommell arrives in North Africa.

1945

Under “Bomber” Harris‘ command, Britain carpet-bombs the German city of Dresden.

Spaatz instructed Gen Doolittle to carpet-bomb Berlin.

Commonwealth and US bomber squadrons attacked Dresden.

Planned assassination attempt on Hitler-Hitler confidant Albert Speer decides (see “Inside the 3rd Reich” by Speer) to kill Hitler with Tabun,a new gas, by placing it in the air system of Hitler’s Berlin bunker. It was determined that it would not work.

The US 8th Air Force launches a massive attack (675 bombers) against the HQ complex of the OKH at Zossen 20 miles south of Berlin.
